Foodie Friday: Chicken Fajita/Chicken Fajita Stir Fry/Yuca(Cassava) Recipe :)

As salaamu alaykum  and hello lovelies! I finally have my charger for my laptop!  I am back to doing what I love and that is blogging! This post was supposed to be up last friday, but for some reason when I tried writing on my tablet  it would not let me scroll down any further to continue writing my post. This is a different post since I am a beauty blogger. I figured I can switch it up sometimes. Plus who doesn't love food?!  Since I am a mother and a wife, I thought I would also share some of my recipes and food findings.Hope you enjoy!

I was scrolling down my youtube subscriptions, and I stumbled upon a video on how to make Chicken Fajitas. It was perfect timing because I was trying to figure out what to cook for dinner. It
really is such a simple recipe, so I thought I would share the video with you guys as well as show you my finished results on the dish.

Taken From Still Glam Mom :

*Let marinade for 24 hours for full flavor-

Serves about 3, so double or triple for a large family!
Chicken Fajitas
2 lbs. boneless chicken breast (about 3 large breasts) cut into strips
1/2 teaspoon dry oregano
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon crushed Red Pepper or flakes
Juice of 1 lemon
2 Tablespoon olive oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 green bell pepper, washed, seeds and ribs removed, sliced
1 orange/red bell pepper, washed, seeds and ribs removed, sliced

Here is my finished dish.

You can serve this in a fajita wrap. You can add in the wrap sour cream, shredded cheese, tomatoes, slices of avocado.cilantro, and refried beans. You can basically stuff it with whatever you like lol.

Since I didn't have fajitas to wrap the chicken in, I decided to serve it with yellow rice and Yuca(Cassava).

How to Cook Yuca(Cassava) There are many ways to cook Yuca(Cassava). I wanted to share the Puerto Rican version. :)

Ingredients:
1.Yuca(Cassava)
2.One whole large onion cut in slices.
3.Five cloves of fresh garlic. Chopped.
4.Salt.
5.Olive oil.
6.Red Wine Vinegar.

For the Cassava..
1. Boil until it is soft.
2.Set it aside.
3.In the Same pot, add olive oil depending if you want a lot of sauce or not.
4. Saute the fresh garlic(Four or Five cloves) for about a 30 secs. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
5.Add the Red wine vinegar. Add more or less depending on your sour preference :).
6.Add the onions and saute until the onions become transparent. Add salt.
7. Throw in the Yuca(Cassava) give it one stir so it can be covered in the juices. Cover and let it simmer for about two minutes and your done. At this point I also sprinkle with a little bit of Garlic powder before I stir for added flavor. I loooove garlic! :)

 Viola!

Hope you enjoyed my post and didn't make you hungry ;)

What would you put in your Fajitas? Comment Below. :)

See you in my next blog post! ox

Too Faced Pretty Rebel Eyeshadow Palette Review,Photos And Swatches

As salaamu alaykum and hello everyone! It has taken me awhile, but finally I bring to you the Too Faced Pretty Rebel Palette Review. When I first saw this Palette it was love at first sight. I love each and every color in this palette. This is also my first Too Faced Cosmetics purchase and I am really happy about this palette. The pigmentation is great. The colors are vibrant, and have a metallic, matte and jewel toned finishes. I am not too crazy when it comes to metallic colors, but this palette changed my mind.

The Too Faced Rebel Palette retails for $46.00( 0.50oz ) .This palette contains 10 shadows(1.5g each) that comes in mostly metallic finishes as well as mattes and jeweled tones finishes.

Pros:
Highly pigmented
Has a magnetic closure
Vibrant colors
Lovely range of colors
Comes with a Step by Step guide on how to achieve different looks.

Cons:
Pricey considering it did not come with a primer
The mirror doesn't hold up and can be a bit annoying when applying eyeshadow. You have to support the mirror or else it will fall flat.

Personally, I love all the colors in this palette. :)

Photos:

I just love the packaging.

I love the chris cross detailing running across the Palette. It gives this palette an edgy look.

Back of the palette.

Love the Gold color.Gold,Black and Pink. Awesome :)

Palette comes with a step by step guide on how to achieve different looks.

The colors are stunning. It seems all the first row of colors have innocent girly names while the bottom colors have edgy and rebellious names. Hence the name Pretty Rebel. Nice Too faced! :)

*sigh* Aren't these colors gorgeous?

Swatch Time!

Up close swatches:

Dainty- is such a beautiful  Beige matte highlight color. I initially thought this color would be chalky but it isn't. It feels velvety smooth. Applies nicely.

Charming- is a dirty matte Brown color.

Girly- is a duo chrome metallic. It has a hint of Brown, Pink, and Gold undertones. Simply beautiful. This is one of my favorites and the most unique color in the palette.

Totally Fetch- Love the name and is from the movie "Mean Girls". I thought that was cute. It is a vibrant Pink color and the only color that really pops out.

Miss Sparkles- Such an appropriate name. It really is sparkly. Such a beautiful black color. I was surprised that the sparkles actually stood on the shadow and didn't fall off. It looks like stars. Good job Too Faced! A tiny bit chalky but the sparkles make up for it lol.

Ringleader- is a Champagne metallic color.

Gangsta- A metallic Bronze Copper color. So pretty.

Instigator- is a vibrant metallic Gold. Such a beautiful Gold color. When you put it over a base it looks as though I used the color wet. Pigmentation is great.

BadAss- A metallic Purple with silver and gold glitter in it. Beautiful color. The glitter stays on the color as well and doesn't fall out. Looove it.

Jailbird- Is a vibrant highly pigmented Silver color. This is the silver of all
Silver eyeshadows lol. The pigmentation is crazy. You don't even need a base when applying this color. It is like a liquid silver.  I am not big fan of Silver eyeshadows, but this one sure is pretty.

Conclusion:

Overall, I think The Too Faced Pretty Rebel Palette is amazing and I love every color. The pigmentation is excellent and blends easily. The packaging and the names of the eyeshadows are very creative and gave the palette an edgyiness to it. It would have been nice if the palette came with a mini primer which I think makes the palette a bit pricey since it didn't come with one. What I also didn't like about the palette is that the mirror  has no support. It falls flat so it can make applying makeup a bit annoying. What is the point of having a mirror in the palette is if it doesn't stay up. A minor flaw in the palette. The pros outweigh the cons which makes this palette a must have. If you love metallic eyeshadows then this palette is for you.

Where to buy:

You can find this palette at Ulta, Sephora, and the Too Faced website. If the palette runs out, you can most likely find it on ebay as well.

I hope you enjoyed my review, photos and swatches. Do you own this palette? What are your favorite colors? Would you buy it? Leave a comment below. I always enjoy reading and responding back. ;)

Have a wonderful day lovelies and see you in my next blog post. :)

Charger for My Mac book Pro Doesn't Work :(

As salaamu alaykum and hello lovelies, As you can see from the title of this blog post, my charger to my Macbook is broken. I have all my pending photos for future blogposts on my laptop, without the charger I can't use my lap top and continue with pending posts. All my photos are saved on my laptop and I forgot to drag the photos to my Dropbox. :( In case you are wondering what a dropbox is, it is a awesome app you can download on your devices and use to drop your photos in and access them from all devices even other people's computers by visiting the Dropbox website. You can also open an account online. I think it is an essential tool for bloggers in case you're in a situation like mine. Unfortunately, I didn't drop my photos there so I can't work on my other pending blog posts :( Lesson learned.

For those who have MacBooks,I am sure you can understand my frustration.Apple is all about being innovative when it it comes to technology, but as far as the hardware,it needs major improvement.Their headphones  are poorly made as well and they cost around $30.00. I had my laptop since 09 and I went through three chargers. The first charger that came with the laptop broke years ago.I then purchased another one. That lasted for little over a year.I was forced to buy another one and that lasted for little over a year as well. It recently broke. So now, I have a buy another one. This will be four chargers in four years. To my observation and experience, these chargers life span average between a year to year and a half.I am not happy at all. These chargers are expensive. They retail at $79.99. I read reviews on the Apple  website on the charger, and out of 1,626 reviews, they gave this product one and a half stars. Clearly these people have the same issue as I do. I think they are cheaply made and they do that on purpose.

Keep in mind I had this charger for a little over a year. Look at the condition. Poorly made. People on the Apple website complained about this fraying of the cord in the exact same spot.

I am sorry for ranting and complaining.lol  In case you are wondering I am posting from my iPad. I prefer my laptop,so I guess this will do for now until my fourth charger arrives. I hope you are all having a better day than me.

You can consider this post a review as well lol. I give this product a 3/10.

Have a wonderful day my lovelies ox see you in my next blog post.

LOTD:Maybelline's Color Sensational Vivids in Shocking Coral

One of my favorite summer colors that I like to wear on my lips is Coral. I have been wearing this color a lot lately. The color that I am wearing is bright yet soft if that makes sense lol. When I wear bold lip colors, I like to keep the makeup on my eyes simple. The bold color alone brightens up your face. The color that I am using is Maybelline's Color Sensational Vivids in Shocking Coral.

Here is a quick swatch

Coral with a slight pinky undertone. Love it.

Have a wonderful day my lovelies :) ox

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash Review

As salaamu alaykum and hello lovelies. Did you ever get a product that you try and and forget it only to rediscover it and fall in love ? Well that is what happened to me with this product. I learned that with skin care products, you can't expect an improvement overnight. It takes time to actually see results. When I first used it, I waited perhaps about three weeks and didn't notice anything so I tossed it aside. Later on, I became pregnant and wanted to find something to cleanse my skin with without using harsh chemicals that can be harmful to growing baby. I researched and found that Salicylic acid was not to be used while pregnant. I  also researched and found that tea tree oil wasn't harmful to baby as long as it is used topically.  I went back to using The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash. I used it throughout my pregnancy and it worked wonders on my skin. It kept my skin clear ,smooth and reduced redness in my cheeks. When I used other facial cleansers, it was harsh on my skin and it would make my cheeks really red.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial wash retails at $11.50(8.4 FL oz). It is suppose to  remove excess oil without making your skin feel dry, helps remove impurities, and is gentle enough to be used everyday.

According the label, the tea tree oil is organically grown without chemical pesticides around the mountain of Kenya. Sounds pretty nice that they went great lengths to grow this herb.

As you see here I am almost running out. :)

Pros:
Clears up acne.
Give skin a smooth appearance
Invigorating
Not drying on the skin.
Great for sensitive skin(like mine)
Great for oily skin

Cons:
Product is a bit runny.I think they should have made it a bit thicker.
Smell
A bit expensive(but worth it)

Over all,  I think this product it great. It was a hidden gem that I had tossed aside because I wasn't patient enough to see results. As I said earlier, it takes time to see results when using skin care products.Pregnancy made me realize how great this product is because I was forced to using it to avoid using other skin care facial cleansers or washes that have chemicals that can be harmful to the baby. I still use it even after pregnancy and my skin condition is great. I have no acne, and the redness in my cheeks decreased a lot. It really is gentle on your skin. I usually leave it on for two to five minutes while in the shower everyday. It doesn't leave your skin feeling dry unlike some other facial cleansers. I do recommend using a facial scrub. In my opinion, I think the skin needs to be exfoliated at least three times a week.  It would be great if they came out with a Tea Tree Oil Facial Scrub. I have to hurry and buy another Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash because mine is just about done. :)

I highly recommend this product especially if you have sensitive and oily skin. I also recommend this product if you are pregnant. I did research and the majority say it is safe to use while some have a difference of opinion about using Tea tree oil while pregnant. I used it through out my pregnancy and I have a healthy 6 month old :).

Will I purchase this product again? Yes.

You can find this product HERE. It is also on sale at the moment. :)

Well I hope you enjoyed this review. What is your favorite facial wash or cleanser? Leave a comment below. :)

See you in my next blog post lovelies! :) ox

Revlon Lash Potion By Grow Luscious Mascara Review and Photos

As salaamu alaykum and hello lovelies! Today I am going to be reviewing The Revlon Lash Potion By Grow Luscious. I must admit, the pretty packaging kinda tempted me to buy it, but I also heard many great things about it and decided to purchase this mascara.

The Revlon Lash Potion By Grow Luscious retails between $4.99- $7.99(0.34Fl. Oz). According to Revlon, this mascara will give your lashes super strength and transform your lashes giving them a long and lustrous appearance.  This mascara uses protein to strengthen your eyelashes giving them volume as well. In addition, the triple groove wand is suppose to leave your lashes a clump free.

Photos:

I just love the pretty packaging.

Triple Groove Wand

I love the size and how it really looks like a brush.I think this is great because your lashes are literally brushed with the product.

Pros:
-Volumizing
-Gives your lashes a a lift
-Applies evenly
-Gives your lashes a full appearance
-Affordable
-Packaging
-I love how big the wand is and all the bristles it has.

Cons:
-You have to apply three coats to really get the full benefits of the mascara.
-Hard to Remove

Lets put this mascara to the test.
*No eyelash curler was used prior or after application of the mascara*

Before:

After I applied the first coat, it didn't really make my lashes very noticeable. There is very little volume on the first coat.

After I applied it for the second time,  I noticed it added more volume, lengthened my lashes ,gave it a lift and made my lashes more noticeable than the first coat.

As you can see  on the third coat,  you get the full benefits of this mascara. I was amazed at how beautiful my lashes became. It lengthened them even more on the third coat. Honestly, I did not use any eyelash curler prior to any of the coats. This mascara really lifts your lashes and adds great volume on the third coat. A little clumpy on on the third coat.

This mascara really is a lash potion. Look how much my lashes lengthened on the third coat.

Conclusion:

I am in love with Revlon's Lash Potion By Grow Luscious.I think this Mascara is excellent and really lives up to its title a "lash potion". I have never used a mascara that actually lengthened and lifted my lashes the way this mascara does. The two down sides that I can find, is it is hard to remove the product from your lashes, and  that you have to apply three coats to really see the effects of the mascara. I always triple coat when I use my mascaras anyway, but it never made my lashes look like I am wearing false lashes and never lengthened my lashes the way this mascara does.  It was a little clumpy by the third coat, but I have come to the conclusion that in my experience with using different mascaras, is that no mascara is clump free.  Some mascaras clump more than others. This isn't one of them. I highly recommend Revlon's Lash Potion Mascara. Leave your false lashes in your drawer, because with this mascara, there is no need for them.

You can purchase this product at Ulta,Target,Walmart, Any drugstore.

I hope you enjoyed my review on Revlon's Lash Potion By: Grow Luscious. Please comment and leave your thoughts. Do you own this mascara? If so, What do you think of it?

Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy the day lovelies. See you in my next blog post! :) ox
