Sigma Creme De Couture Collection(Macaron Inspired Eyeshadows and Blushes)-Review,Photos and Swatches

As salaamu alaykum and hello lovelies! Today, I am bringing you a review of Sigma's Creme De Couture Collection. I saw tweets and pictures of the collection and I knew that I had to get my hands on it. The pastel colors really tempted me to purchase this beautiful limited edition set. When I see a makeup that says limited edition whether it be a lipstick or eyeshadow, I  just have to have it. :)

Sigma's Creme De Couture Collection Retails at $55.00 ($68 value). This Collection comes with the The Creme De Couture Eyeshadow Palette which contains 16 matte eyeshadows(0.85 oz) and three Creme De Couture Blushes (0.12oz). The Creme De Couture Eyeshadow Palette alone retails at $32 and  The Creme De Couture Blushes individually retails at $12 each.

Pros:
Beautiful color selection
Decent pigmentation with a base
The price of the collection
All matte palette
Blends nicely
Packaging

Cons:
Lacks pigmentation without a base
Contains no highlight color
Has no mirror
Very Chalky

The packaging is adorable.

Beautiful color selection, but two colors are very similar which are Blueberry Cream and Blue
Chocolat. I also love the names of each eyeshadow.

When you purchase a box of macarons, it also comes with a card that describes each flavor of macaron. I love how sigma emulated that and incorporated that with in the collection keeping up with the theme. Very cute.

When I look at these little boxes they look like they have a yummy treat inside. Sigma did a great job with the packaging.

My least favorite color blush out of the three is Strawberry Ambrosia. I think it is too light for my skin tone. Cherry Apple is my favorite out of the three.

All of the blushes comes with a card as well describing the color.

Swatch time!

Sigma Creme De Couture Eyeshadow swatches:

Without Base
As you can see the colors appear to be very chalky with out a base. The lighter colors have the chalkiest appearance.

With Base

When the eyeshadows are applied over a base, they lose their chalky appearance and the pigmentation is improved.

Red Berry Rose is a hot pink color.

Apricot Flower is a peach color.

Passion Fruit is a salmon color.

Cherry Blossom is a very la baby pink color.

Meyer Lemon is a canary yellow.

Ginger Pumpkin is orangey sherbet color.

Cafe Au Lait- Chocolate brown

Blueberry Cream is a sky blue color.

Violet whip is more of a lilac color.

Lavender Honey is a periwinkle color with a pink undertone when you apply it.

Cassis is a true violet color.

Elderberry is a deep purple.

Blue Chocolate is a baby blue color.

Almond Pear is a mint color.

Creme De Menthe is a robin's egg color

Citron Pistachio is a lime green color.

Sigma Creme De Couture Blushes- Swatches

Cherry Ambrosia- is a red toned blush.I  think it is a perfect color to wear on your cheeks for the Fall.

Black Berry Essence-Is a lavender color blush with a pink under tone. I think it's pretty color to wear for the spring.

Strawberry Ambrosia -is a barbie pink colored blush. It is the chalkiest of them all and it is my least favorite blush, because it is too light for my skin tone.

Conclusion:

Over all, I think the Sigma Creme De Couture Collection is ok. I was a bit disappointed. I had high expectations for this palette since I have seen pictures and  some you tubers use this palette to do makeup looks. The pigmentation is not great. It is decent when applied over a base and you have to pack on the color to get the true color in the palette. On the plus side the packaging is adorable, the colors blend nicely, they are all matte colors and has beautiful color selections. However, two of the colors are almost identical(BlueBerry Cream and Blue Chocolat).  It would have been nice if the palette came with a highlight color. Perhaps a cream or white color. They could have named one of those vanilla ;) Usually with matte eyeshadows you have the chalky appearance and with that comes lack of pigmentation. Unfortunately, with this palette that is the case. As for the Sigma Creme De Couture Blushes, two out of the three blushes I like. Strawberry Ambrosia is my least favorite out of the blushes because it is too light for my skin tone and is very chalky. I think the Bh Cosmetics eyeshadows and blush palettes have better color payoff. The collection is nice to have if you like adorable packaging and must have limited edition items like me :) Would I buy this again if Sigma decided to put it on a permanent line? No. If you do decide to buy the palette or collection, make sure you have an eyeshadow base handy to really bring out the beautiful colors that this palette has.

Hope you enjoyed my review on the Sigma Creme De Couture Collection. Would you buy this palette? What are your favorite eyeshadow colors in the palette? What are you favorite blush colors in the collection. Leave a comment below :)

Have a great day and see you in my next blog post.

  1. Great review! I almost ordered the whole collection, but I wondered about the matte formula being chalky. The pastel shades are gorgeous though!

  2. They look like beautiful colors, too bad the color payoff isn't what you expected. My custom palette from Sigma is very nice and has good pigmentation so I guess it just depends. Have you tried applying a lot of Urban Decay Primer Potion to your lids before you apply the shadow and then patting the shadow on the lids to build up the color? That may help amp up the colors.

    1. Yea it does depend on what formula sigma uses on their palettes. I have the sigma Paris palette and the color payoff is excellent. This palette has beautiful colors but the pigmentation is a bit of a disappointment. I used Nyx's jumbo eye pencil in milk and on another lid i used urban decay's primer potion. It helps a little. Thanks for the advice :)

  3. I like the colors, but the pastels for me would definitely be a bit on the bright side. I don't mind them like in the Spring. I'm guessing the pigmentation thing matters a lot...I'm not good with makeup when it comes to this aspect. I think I would be turned off by the chalky aspect too. Like you said, the colors are beautiful :)
